This review of the innovation literature seeks to identify the role of skilled labor in the process of innovation and technological change. After an introduction of main innovation theories, the role of skills is analyzed from several perspectives: (1) Independent innovator – entrepreneur; skills deployed and needed; the role of education (2)Firm –the contribution of skilled labor to innovation from within the firm and from external sources. The article suggests an approach to the formation of the innovation manager’s competency profile. We have conducted a study within some reasonable bounds. Innovation manager’s competencies are considered at the level of PhD doctorate educational programs in “Management” and “Innovation Management.” In addition to academic, scientific, educational activities, the future researcher is also expected to be planning to engage in innovation activities. The article sorts innovation manager’s competencies by content uniformity and differentiates them into groups: 1) Intellectual abilities and critical thinking; 2) Personal performance; 3) Communication, interpersonal and intercultural interaction; 4) Research management; 5) Digital competencies and openness. In this explorative study, we investigate the relationship between dynamic capabilities and innovation capabilities. Dynamic capabilities are at the core of strategic management in terms of how firms can ensure adaptation to changing environments over time. Our paper follows two paths of argumentation. First, we review and discuss some major contributions to the theories on ordinary capabilities, dynamic capabilities, and innovation capabilities. We seek to identify different understandings of the concepts in question, in order to clarify the distinctions and relationships between dynamic capabilities and innovation capabilities. Second, we present a case study of the 'Innovation Clinic' at a major university hospital, including four innovation projects. We use this case study to explore and discuss how dynamic capabilities can be extended, as well as to what extent innovation capabilities can be said to be dynamic. In our conclusion, we discuss the conditions for nurturing 'dynamic innovation capabilities' in organizations.

Creativity and innovation drive competitiveness in the 21st century enterprises. Dynamic hyper-intensive competitive markets demand widespread innovations from all employees in most global enterprises. Leaders influence and set the contextual environments under which their employees express creativity. This paper will examine how different lea-dership models relate with individual creativity. It is noted that the mindful consciousness of individuals, including their leaders, play significant roles in the individuals ’ creativity. This exploratory research study first defines creativity and individual creativity, and then examines the five different orientations of leaders ’ influences on the individuals ’ creativity. In conclusion, selected managerial and educational implications are suggested.
